Belgian Ben

    Communication technologies are invading the whole world using most powerful link that connects all continents : internet. This resort is used by all the sectors like advertising, economy and politics.

The influence of new technologies on politics is not as influential in Belgium. The reason of the impact’s weakness is due to the fact that majority of Belgian population is older and doesn’t use internet. Elderly don’t have internet so they are not affected by this wave and because they are the most important part of the population in Belgium, the effect of political blogs is negligible.

However, other medias are being used by politics to improve their fame like the television. This technology is very appreciated by all the categories of age. It profits from a great popularity in the elderly so it has a really powerful impact in Belgium.  In spite of  its popularity, politics don’t use this media a lot, they actually use leaflets and do meetings in towns.

In conclusion, because of the old population that doesn’t use the internet and the politics that never appear on television, Belgium is not affected by the new technological wave that has conquest the world.
